I have two very large brass containers, they are shaped like shallow bowls, with ornately carved handles. The largest is a shallow bowl shape, with a wide flat rim, very heavy handles carved with scallop shells. The smaller is a lighter weight with floral carved handles. I purchased them at a Washington, dc flea market approximately 1985, they appeared quite old at that time.
Without seeing them it's hard to say but here a re a few ideas. For the small one use it on your counter or desk to put bills in while you are waiting to pay them or use it as a flower pot or for floating tea candles in . For the larger one use it in the bath room to hold rolled up wash cloths rolled small hand towels
