bread does not brown well?

Answer:

Baby yarn is not necessaryJust pick a yarn that is nice and soft and is easy to launder.
You really can make a baby blanket out of any kind of yarn that you likeSoft weight yarn would work just fine.
Baby yarn is a weight designationBaby yarn is smaller in diameter than worstedIt will work up more slowly than worstedSoftness would depend on the particular yarn you chooseI knit items for babies out of many different weight yarns.
I just hate baby yarnI made my first and last afghan using baby yarn in JanuaryIt took so long, I made a quilt instead to be in time for the showerThe advantage of a baby yarn afghan is that it is lightweight-perfect for summer monthsYou can duplicate that with worsted by having a more openwork patternIt won't bug the baby's skin at allIf you still want finer yarn, consider sport weightIt's not as annoying as baby yarnI make norwegian sweaters from that all the time.
loosely lay a sheet of aluminum foil over the top as you cook itOr put a glaze on the top that has sugar or egg in itSugar will brown the top as it cooks, the sugar in the glaze will caramelize.
