Question:

Breast milk supply support during pregnancy: Pt 2?

Ok, picked up some red rasperry leaf tea and alfalfa leaf tablets todayThe tablets are 1,000 mgSo how many should I take a day? Also, I need some information on the safety of Red Raspberry Leaf tea in the first trimester. Thanks a bunch!

Answer:

Red raspberry leaf is safe t/o the whole pregnancy Re the lactation while pregnant, you are just going to have to stick with it and see how it goesSome women have no problems, but most experience diminishing supply as the pregnancy progressesIf your supply starts to wane, I wonder (and this is just a thought) if you can seek hormonal supplement help from your doctorI know they can put pitocin (and prolactin?) in a saline aerosol inhaler (through the nose), but I'm not sure if this would be safe or recommended during pregnancy, though as it can cause uterine contractions Take care and good luck!!!
