Question:

broken water pump 2003 PT Cruiser?

How do I change the water pump on a 2003 PT Cruiser. What do you do with the timing belt and gears?

Answer:

Changing the timing belt and water pump on a PT Cruiser is about a difficulty level 7 out of 10. If you do not have much mechanical experience, give this job to a shop and pay the $500 to $800 to have it done right. Done wrong could cost you an engine.
if you have 100,000 miles on it, and haven't changed the timing belt, CHANGE IT NOW. Recommended change at 100,000 miles. Mine broke at 104,000, towing was $125, and then cost of repairs. Also recommend changing seals on xmission at same time.
