Question:

Buy keyboard (piano) help!?

Hi I'm a newbie, and I want to buy a keyboard to practice at home. What kinds of keyboard I should avoid getting? Can you give me some recommendations? My budget is $300 max

Answer:

Casio Lighting Keyboard LK-230 OR the Casio Lighting Keyboard LK-300T good for beginners. Their prices range from $399.00 and up. I had a Casio Lighting LK-230, definitely worth saving for that extra 100 bucks OR Yamaha YPG 235 76-Key Portable Grand Piano Keyboard from about $250.00 Yamaha NPV60 76-Key Mid-Level Piaggero Ultra-Portable Digital Piano from $329.00 Williams Allegro 88-Key Digital Piano from $299.00 Don't get any keyboard from M-audio. I've heard that they aren't very durable. Great brands to look at is Roland, Casio, Yamaha and Williams. Best is to go to a music shop and ask the people to help you out. They will be able to give you the best quality for your budget. I would strongly advise you to save up another 100 bucks or more, because it's better to get something a bit more expensive, even as a beginner, and make sure that you have something that lasts.
