Question:

can a ferret use a wheel?

can a ferret use a wheel and like it

Answer:

Copper is cheap, safe, and workable. At one time pipes were made of lead, and people were poisoned. Also, copper is fairly malleable, so it can easily be made into pipes.
Ferrets are like 14-18 inches long so it would have to be a HUGE and SMOOTH wheel, not one with wires. And considering my ferret can hardly walk on my hardwood or tile floors without her feet slipping out from under her, it'd have to be a grippy material. I mean, they might enjoy the running if they had to be in the cage all day but I think they'd just enjoy the time outside the cage more. Half the time they'd rather just sleep. I bet mine would just sleep in the wheel if I got her one.
Have you ever seen a ferret? They aren't built to run on a wheel. Their spines are so long you can do serious damage by letting them run on one. If you want, they might have fun with a little wheel that's small enough for maybe a hamster or mouse and hook it to the cage. I'm sure they'd love to mess around on it. Make sure it's smooth, though, like this: www.allaboutmice .uk/wp-content.
