Can a finishing nail gun be used to install 3/8 engineered hardwood?

Answer:

No you need special gun and fasteners for hardwood
It is best to use a flooring stapler. Bostich makes a stapler that is especially for installing engineered wood. Use the finish nailer would probably it hard for the rows to go together.
Engineered flooring is usually not nail down. Normally it is floating or glue down. You can use a finish nailer to lay down flooring but for blind nailing it is very tedious and you have to be very careful, not recommended . It is fine for face nailing but I bet your flooring is pre-finished and you don't want to face-nail a pre-finished floor. Find out how your floor is supposed to be installed and if you can nail it down you'd be much happier if you rented a flooring nailer or stapler.
