Question:

Can a heating vent cause a fire if blocked?

If a heating vent in a house was blocked by, say, a blanket over night, does it pose a risk for a fire?

Answer:

No. The only thing in your heating vent is warm air. There is no flame, electricity, or gas.The duct work only transports the warm air to the room.
No, I do it all the time. Usually I throw a pillow over the vent (I like it cooler in the bedroom - I sleep better)
definitely mine say not to put anything within a couple feet of them!
