Question:

can electric blankets start fires by.?

i put my electric blanket under the sheet that is directly on my matress and i heard somewhere that it could easily start a fire. is this true?

Answer:

Kissing in the rain first; then drying off and snuggling in front of a fire place.
Lightning seeks ground potential. If a tower is grounded (as most are by code) lightning will have a higher target still at ground potential. The equipment that feeds the tower includes protection against lightning - an arrester - so the charge travels though the tower to the ground harmlessly. If the tower's ground is poor the charge may find ground through the equipment - that's not a good day for a radio.
If the fire extinguisher has been used just type the question into google if it has not been used and it is still showing charged there are different scenarios if it is a co2 or water type you won't need to do anything extinguishers of this nature are good for at least 6years and sometimes up to 12 if your extinguisher is a dry power type turn it upside down and hit it hard with a hammer these will dislodge that powder and stop it settling or compacting
Drop by your local fire department and ask one of the firemen their.
