Question:

Can fire extinguishers be stored outdoors in the winter as long as they are stored undercover?

We are buying a new home and the heating source is an outdoor wood boiler. I would like to have a extinguisher near by if we need one. We live in maine and the temperatures can get very cold in the winter. Will the cold effect the extinguisher?

Answer:

IF YOU CAN PUT A SMALL FAN IT WILL BE EVEN BETTER
yes but i would put the dry ice in a safe container inside the pumpkin. happy hallooween!
Smoke detectors are not typically not tripped by heat. They are tripped either by ions from products of combustion (radioactive detector) or microscopic smoke particles (photo-electric detector). And some advanced units are tripped by carbon monoxide as well. In any of these cases you have a problem with the stove itself. Either dirt in the oven that is burning when it heats or incomplete combustion of the gas. What color is the flame? If there is even a hint of yellow, the fuel-to-air mix is not correct and must be adjusted. And if the oven is dirty and has not been cleaned for a long time, that is the other answer. Good luck with it. Clean it up, check the flame color and get it fixed soonest if necessary. Don't mess around with carbon monoxide - deadly, or an oven so dirty that it smokes - fire hazard.
No real safety procedures I think can of other than don't drop the ice in the water, pour the water on the ice AND be sure to wear gloves when handling the ice because it can cause burns. Dry ice would work, yes. But for a short amount of time. (maybe about 30 minutes before you need more ice) If your pumpkin is going to be fairly close to an electrical outlet, I would suggest a water humidifier instead. It can be used not only for the pumpkin but also indoors as well to clear the air. (I stepped next to one not knowing what it was at the mall and it almost instantly cleared my sinuses which were clogged from a bad cold. Don't ask, husband dragged me out on our anniversary) A lot come with pretty little removable decorations. And to make sure that the smoke only comes out of the ears, I would suggest taping cling wrap over the other holes.
yep it can be used. i did that in kindergarten
