If the software is a freeware or shareware, it is not a crime. But if the software is proprietary, it is definitely a crime to use software from torrent sites.
I'm check out the categories on Softer Surface Resins, perhaps regular epoxy resins, and Faux Water, at least and read about sealing first when necessary under regular epoxies or maybe other places on the page too HTH, Diane B.
