Question:

Can i make my own axle for my gokart?

Im making a go kart and i noticed that gokart axels are 200 dollars and i dont have that money to spend on an axle could i just use a metal pipe or rode?

Answer:

On a car, if one tire goes flat, you still have three left and a good chance of control. On a motorcycle if one tire goes flat, you can severely loose control. Back tire blows, the rear of the bike can kick over, next thing you know you are eating an 18 wheeler. Do not skimp on motorcycle tires.
Dunlop has a plug/patch kit that works very well. But I ride 70-80 not 150-160.
NO NO NO. Plugging should only be used to get you home or to a dealer so the tire can be changed. Front or rear, makes no difference. Long distance riders participating in time to distance events routinely plug tires so they can keep going until they can change the tire.
Axles are hardened steel and then you would have to weld the hubs and sprocket hub on exactly straight. If it's just a fun cart try finding someone that has a bunch of junked riding mowers and I'm cure you could find something you could adapt for it and probably use it for other needed parts.
