Question:

can i use a 13A 125V or 15A 125V power extension cable with a 10A 125W one?

I need the cable for my TV to be longer. It uses a 10A 125W cable, and all I can find (at a price I like) are 13/15A cords. Is it okay to use this in conjunction with the 10A TV power cable? It will be plugged into a surge protector if that makes a difference...

Answer:

The 10 amp and 13 amp ratings are just the maximum amount of current those cables are made for. Your TV will only use 2 or 3 amps, so both cables are fine.
