Question:

Can I use a 9VAC transformer on my 12VDC Polarcare Icing Machine?

I could only find a 9 volt AC transformer where the machine says it takes a 12 volt DC power supplyI plugged it in and it worked but I didn't run it for more than a second in fear of what would happenWould it be okay to run the machine this way?

Answer:

In theory no, I'm surprised it worked at allIt must have diode protection from reverse phase connections so the 9 volts AC got rectified into DC by thatI wouldn't have tried it the first time and you probably shouldn't try it againYou could connect the 9 volt AC to a full wave bridge rectifier from Radio Shack and a filter capacitor and make it work but if you are going to Radio Shack anyway you might as well pick up a 12 volt DC power supplymk
idk.check the bulbs??
