Question:

Can I use a pot in place of a pan?

I have some smoked sausage I need to cook, but some of the directions involve putting a cover over for about 15 minutesUnfortunately, I don't have a cover for my pan, but I do for my potMy logic says they are made from the same thing, except the pot is bigger and can hold more stuff, so it should workOtherwise, would it be a problem? It shouldn't be a big deal, but if it doesn't work i don't want to waste itI'm a poor college student who needs to preserve all her foodlolThanks!!

You can tear off some aluminium foil and use that for a lid.you can do that and even place a plate upside down over the aluminium foil to make sure it stays down and holds in the steam.it won't be a problem to use your pot instead of your pan.you will just have more room than needed probably but, that's no problem.
