Can I use aluminum foil as a barrier when cutting food?

I am making home made noodles and have ran out of parchment paper to cut onIn order to keep the counter safe from scratches I always put the rolled dough on paper and then cutWill aluminum foil work? What about wax paper?I am worried about possible residue??Thanks in advance.

Answer:

No it will tear and some particles will get into the Food,I would say wax paper is the best of the two.
