Question:

Can i use lead electrodes in Hydrogen fuel cell?

Can i use lead electrode in the place of platinum electrodes in hydrogen fuel cell.

Answer:

In a Hydrogen fuel cell H2 and O2 gases combine to form water efficiently. The metal electrodes are simply there to conduct the flow of electrons. Any metal can be used.
No! Because lead is more electropositive than hydrogen. See elertochemical series.
No. Platinum is inert to attack by the electrolytes in the fuel cell. It also has catalyst properties. Lead has no catalyst properties and it can become ionized and dissolve into the electrolyte and chemically poison the reaction.
