Question:

can I watch cable tv on my pc?

I have cable service in my place that I am paying for but I just sold my tv. I also have enternet service. I am just wondering if there is a way that I can watch my cable to on my pc without a tv. I sold my tv because I am moving but not for about a week or so.

Answer:

of course u can! usually u need a tv tuner on ur comp and a comp with a tv tuner usually has the right software to play it. as for tv through ethernet, i've seen it done and that's waht my big sister does but i don't know how it works or much about it
You didn't say if your pc has a tv tuner program on it. If it does then I believe you can watch tv on your pc or at least recored to your pc and watch later. Without the tv tuner you can only load am much of the program as you have RAM, so the program stops ever few seconds to clear the RAM and reload it. I don't have the tv tuner on my pc and I have tried to watch tv programs direct from the network sites. It might work different if you hook up the cable to you pc.
You can buy a TV tuner from your local computer store. You actually have more flexibility on how you can control/manage what you watch (i.e. schedule recordings, capture still images, e.t.c) because the cable feed interfaces right into your computer. I'd say get it.
