Question:

Can shielding tape touch the pots?

Ok, so I have decided to shield my guitarI bought some self adhesive tape off eBay that I will solder together once its inMy question is, can the shielding tape touch the pots or any other metal parts? I also heard you need to solder a wire to each different sectionFor example, run a wire from the tape in the control cavity to the tape in the pickup cavity and solder itIs that true? Thanks for your help.

Lasers are a real big thing in dental offices, they are minimally invasive, which means they take away the least amount of your natural tooth structure, and they are very preciseyou get to keep as much healthy tooth structure as possible and you still get fillings donewe use ultrasonic cleaners to clean your teethfor crowns and bridgework there is a, new to america and canada, machine called Cerec in office crownsyou get your crowns or bridges in one sitting rather than two, the crown gets madein the office, rather than being sent to a lab, and its made outta material taht is closest to natural tooth structure as possiblealso digital x rays deliver 1/8 the amount of radiation compared to traditional x ray machinescheck out your local dentist listings for an up to date in technology dental office.
Norm is fairly right on, however it is suggested to solder the tapeI proper shielding job is typically copper foil on the pick guard or cavity guards as well as shielding paint on the interior of the guitarShielding paint is a nickel based paint and at least 2 coats are recommendedWhen you apply shielding tape, you should bend the ends of the overlapping pieces, it kind of looks like 2 J channelsThen you can solder itThe tape is made of copper, and copper is a metal that can be solderedSome people on a budget use aluminum foil and glueIm not sure if that will hold a soldered jointYou can use the tape to shield the inside of the guitar as well, and also the pickups if they are not already shielded, however I recommend paint for the best jobYou can get more tips at the site I am providing belowAlso, I tried looking all over the place for a cheaper paint, and this was the only site I foundThey sell both the paint and the tape if you need it as well as having the walk through.
