Question:

How do you install a Cobalt SS Cold Air intake?

Can someone walk me through step by step how to install a cold air intake for a 2006 cobalt ss.

Answer:

I wouldn't recommend it on the ss supercharged if you're stock. If you've increased boost then a 3 system is beneficial. The stock intake on most modern GMs is cold air by definition (pulling air from the wheel well). If you still want to do it.you need to pull the tire and the wheel well liner, thread the piping through the hole in the firewall (after attaching the MAF) and then attach the filter. Quite frankly it's a p.i.t.a. to do on the cobalt.much easier on it's brother the Ion redline. You might be able to pull the headlight and get a hand in the wheel well to get everything connected (not sure if this is possible on the cobalt) but you'll end up with some knuckle cuts. It might be different on the regular 2.4 ss due to throttle placement.
wrong section, btw tires, car and bike develop wear, not ware! Timothy :o)
