Question:

Can speakers break the monitor?

A computer technician told me to place my speakers away from my LCD monitor as the magnets in the speakers can cause the monitor to malfunction. Is there any truth to this?

Answer:

seem for some decrease priced audio equipment on line or at walmart/aim you will get some for somewhat decrease priced, as has been pronounced you could no longer see the OSD so which you will no longer set it as much as no longer bypass to sleep except you recognize the OSD menu by applying heart or get fortunate.
ya but u need some jesus 5000 speakers
No. CRT monitors may be damaged by speakers. It wont affect the LCD monitors. Adviceable to Use branded PC speakers like creative, Altec lansing and BOSE
PC specific speakers are typically shielded to keep the magnets from affecting a CRT monitor. But I never heard of magnets affecting an LCD. I was going to return a CRT monitor from work that I thought was defective because the image was bending and tearing at the top. But then I removed the user's digital clock from the top of the monitor, and the image was suddenly perfect. Apparently the transformer in the digital clock was affecting the CRT monitor.
If the speakers aren't magnetically shielded they can affect the monitor. Just try it and see. Put your speakers beside the monitor. Even home tower speakers are shielded now because people use them beside their big screen TVs. Buy new speakers if yours aren't shielded. Or keep them 2 feet or more away. I don't think it can permanently break a LCD monitor but it can a CRT monitor. My son put a magnet on my CRT monitor and it looked like a rainbow permanently. Also my old CRT TV got messed up from the VCR being too close.
