If there is actual incontrovertible evidence that he did collude with the Russians to rig or fix or even influence the elections then yes, that truly is a high crime and misdemeanor worthy of the charge of treason and impeachment. The death penalty is allowed for treason. Which would be ironic since trump supports the death penalty and is expected to appoint judges who would support it too.
