Yes, police should be allowed to come in without their uniform on. Court could have been scheduled on their day off, or they may have other engagements after court. Being in a uniform isn't going to be any different than what they look like in their street clothes. I work in law enforcement and see plenty of police officers dressed as civilians and I still recognize them.
