Question:

Can you bend old copper plumbing pipes?

I want to replace my kitchen taps (one hot and one cold) with a mixer tap so I‘ll need the existing water pipes to be moved towards each a few inches each (where the mixer tap is going to go).Can I simply bend the copper pipes so they reach? Do I need to be careful of anything? Is there anything I need to do before I bend them? Thanks very much, all help is greatly appreciated.

Answer:

buy it seperate. you shouldnt need to buy one though, unless the car has mor ethan 70000 miles on it even then you dont really need a new one
you will could desire to purchase a cat convertor. circulate to a junk backyard and discover one for 40$ or so. I basically take my cats off :) or hallow them out :). Of corse your motor vehicle comes with a cat convertor. in case you havent taken it of this is.
if it is soft pipe you can bend them gently by hand,if it is rigid you need a bending tool.good luck.
No if you bend them, the ends will become distorted and not round, and you will not be able to solder anything on. If there is an existing fitting on them still no, once certain copper pipes are bent they become very brittle and will rupture. I know the mixer type valve, they have two legs of copper pipe running down w/ a fitting on the end. those are perfectly good to bend, even multiple times to get the spacing correct. If that is impossible you need to get/buy additional fittings to make the ends meet up.
