Can you build a faraday cage to block gamma rays?

I found a site that listed how to make a faraday cage. It also gave the equation (C/F-L)/20. CLight speed Ffrequency Lwavelength and divided by 20 equals the size of the holes in the cage/wire mesh. So the wavelength of radio waves divided by 20 equals the size the gaps in the wire need to be. Could you do this with gamma rays, to block out radiation? And what about regular light?

Faraday cages can be used to block out electromagnetic radiation which come in the form of waves. The lower the frequency the larger the grid, the higher the frequency the smaller the grid. Light waves could theoretically be blocked, but their frequency is so high that you'd have to use an impossibly small mesh. Gamma ray frequency is much higher. Faraday cages are really only good for very low frequency waves such as radio. Even microwaves are too high for practical usage of a a Faraday cage. Additional info: Alien Steve is correct . I wasn't thinking of solid metal as being a Faraday cage. His answer is on the money (he gets my vote).
I think you are confusing things. The formula is for use when you choose to use a perforated shield. You may do so for air flow, and to be able to run wires in and out. But the ultimate faraday cage is a solid sheet, no holes. However, if you consider that a sheet of copper is really a bunch of widely separated very tiny atoms, to very high frequency it begins to appear as a mesh. Because of this, high molecular weight metals shield better than lower molecular weight, but even concrete will shield. Yes, metal shielding is used all the time to shield against gamma rays. They are exactly the same thing as radio waves and light, they are just very high energy/frequency. Gamma rays and Xrays are the same thing, the choice was made to call them by their origin. In the past, distinction between the X- and gamma rays was arbitrarily based on wavelengths. Now the two types of radiation are usually defined by their origin: X-rays are emitted by electrons outside the nucleus, while gamma rays are emitted by the nucleus. And you -can- make a faraday cage for microwaves - it is called a microwave oven. 2.4GHz is low enough that even very thin sheets of metal will stop it.
They are all-season tires which means they don't do anything particularly well. The definition of all-season by the way is they have some ability in slight snow and above-freezing temperatures.
