Question:

can you cast copper in a mold for ceramic?

i was wondering because i have alot of scrap copper and i wanted to pour it into coins, my mom has a ceramic mold of a coin and i was wondering if i could use it to pour into

Answer:

Unless it is on something like a Rolls Royce, I think it is fake. The leather on my chevrolet doesn't look or feel real.
Fake leather is called other names, like pleather.
It is as advertised. Echtes Leder is German for Genuine Leather. The lining is viscose, which I think is a type of polyester or acetate.
Ceramic molds are usually plaster of paris. That is good for ceramics because the mold will absorb water from the clay. Slowly the water evaporates leaving a nice clay casting. The plaster continues to hold water from the surrounding air even tho it feels dry to the touch. Moisture in the mold will chill the molten copper too fast and there will be voids and air pockets in the casting. The mold will probably be ruined. If the mold were dried in a warm oven for several hours it might make a decent casting, but chances are that the mold will still be ruined.
