Answer:

replacing the hub means building a whole new wheel by hand $$$$$$ wle
hi, My call is Mike. confident you will desire to purchase a sparkling rim to your present day hub and function it laced up at your nearby motorbike save. the sole situation is cost. for the recent rim you would be watching $30-$40 and the hard paintings around $25-$35. a sparkling wheel with the same hub could be around the comparable cost and much less time ingesting. thank you and good success.
If you want the factory replacement locking adaptor for your lug nut lock, visit your local VW dealership. There are I think, 5 different master sets, they are ordered by colour, and they need to try the wheel locks until they find the one that fits. I cannot remember how much they cost, but they can be ordered by your local VW dealership parts department. If memory serves me correctly, in most years, they were manufactured by McGuard.Otherwise, you can do what the earlier writer has suggested and force a impact socket over the locking lug and remove it with a breaker bar.
If you have single wall rims then the neither the hub nor the wheel is of good quality- ESPECIALLY NOT $160 good quality. Most hubs are still cup and cone models but MAY have a rubber seal on the outside. Don't confuse sealed [cup and cone] bearing with sealed [roller] bearings. Replacing a hub will cost you for the hub, the spokes, and the labor. Replacing a wheel is generally much cheaper.
