Question:

Can you make blackout blinds? Or where can you buy them?

I am going to turn my bathroom into a darkroomIt will be a temporary one but I want to buy blackout blinds for the windowsIs there a way to make them or is there a place to cheaply buy them? i would prefer to not have to buy them onlineThanks!

Answer:

Try putting some vodka in it for a while, that should fix it.
plastic is ok, do not put any metal unless you want to see sparksburned material can make it unusable.
Hi Pearl no, the only thing that can ruin a microwave is putting silver things in there or if you have a fuel that is blown out.
exposed food is O K Food inside a metallic container is not O KFood inside a non metallic container is O Kfood wrapped in tin foil is not OK ( because the food is inside a metallic containerA cup of water plus a ball of tin foil will not hurt the oven but you may get arcing in the tin foil ball since the microwaves produce a voltage across small gaps large enough to cause an arc.
Blackout blinds and curtains are usually not enough to seal out enough light for a darkroomIf you don't need it very often, I'd suggest taping aluminum foil over the windows, sealing all the cracks with masking tape If you're going to be doing this often, I'd construct a thin plywood panel with gasketing and use that as a coverIf you're only developing film and just need to get it into the canister, how about an oldfashioned changing bag? Don't forget you'll have to seal the door, too.
