Question:

can you make non poisonous moonshine with 15 feet of copper pipe instead of 20 feet?and whats the difference?

im just wondering because i dont understand why it says 20feet of copper pipe. seems if you just make the water a little colder that the vapor would condense in 15feet of copper pipe but im just wondering.

Answer:

It was never the feet of copper pipe that caused the poisoning. It was always the hot acid (alcohol) running over the lead solder holding the bits of copper together. If you have joints, you have to use the more expensive silver solder.

The copper pipe has nothing to do with poisonous moonshine. Lead joints in the copper pipe can make it poisonous. Also fermenting the wrong ingredients can make it poisonous.
