Question:

Can you mix Heating Controls with a Sunbeam Heating Blanket?

I got a new heating blanket, the old blanket I had got ripped up, this one had a different remote control to control the heating temperatures than the last one, but however when I was discovering the different heating settings and turning the knob, I found that I couldn't go back, It was stuck on high, and I didn't want to risk it so I discontinued my use for that remote for the Sunbeam heating blanket. I still had the last remote from my last heating blanket which was also by sunbeam,, so I was wondering if I could use this control from my last heating blanket on my new one.

Answer:

when my daughter was born it was december in Virginiawhich is also not very cold. My advice to you is get footie pajamas. My daughter lived in them for the newborn sizes and didn't start wearing outfits until she was 3 months. The footie PJ's you can Get in light cotton or in fleece, and are helpful at keeping them warm as newborns cant control their body temperature. Even though it is not cold to to it is freezing to them (even at say 70 degrees you keep it in your house) get lots of cotton hats always keep a hat on a baby until they are about 6 weeks. Also get lots of the little hand mittens to keep them from scratching their faces. A few onsies never hurt to get either for if your child is warm or has a fever. Another option to consider is sleep sacks or wearable blankets for going to bed. They keep them nice and warm. Also a couple bath robes to put them in straight out of the tubby are good to have. hope i helped!
cold to you and cold to a baby are two entirely differant things. what is comfortable to you might make the baby cold. so get a little bit of everything. obviously you are not going to need as many long sleeve type things as someone living in wisconsin might, but 4 or 5 of them wouldnt hurt, especially if you plan on traveling at all.
I love onesies and the jammies are cute at that age. I don't live down where it is warm. But I do have a little advice, when I had my showers, everyone bought big. I was thinking that I didn't have enough newborn - but I was wrong, my little one grew so fast at the beginning that the bigger stuff fit her sooner than I would have thought (she was out of newborn within a couple of weeks - but she also grew 4 in two months). If you look at a growth chart for infants, you will see that they grow pretty fast for the first few months at least. However, that was my experience. Lots of onesies - they are great to wear alone and to wear under clothes when it is a little cooler out - that's what I use most.
As a mom with two young children in daycare I can tell you what are the sing that I looked for when picking out my kids'.What you need to see is the room/s where your child will be in, activities that she might do, what's a typical day there, what's the teacher-child ratio, are the teachers trainned to deal with toddlers/infants-ie ECE,ECA What's the teacher to child ratio? What are the activities the children do during the day? How's naptime done? Meet with the future teachers and ask them questions what are the guidelines for the centre, how do they deal with discipline as the child gets older etc And any questions you can think of, remember you're the mom so your questions or worries matter!! You also need to ask if they're providing lunch, who makes it, do they have a meal plan? Can parents see the meal plan? Is it easy to see or do you need to request it? What about kids with allergies, can they cater to those needs? -All these questions will give you an idea of how good the daycare is, whether they have a cook and the meal plan is on a board for every parent to see, or it's sent home every week, it talks about openness and that they have nothing to hide. Also when you meet the teachers, you instincts are also very important. If for some reason you dont like them, then that's fair enough. Also ask about no only qualification of the teachers but experience!! How long they've been working there, etc.. becuase it says that teachers like it there, if they've been there for a while, and as for experience the better care your daughter will recieve. I hope I helped!! Good Luck!!
