The primary window in the roof I am staying in has a canopy underneath it. The canopy is 10 feet off the ground, so I'm sort of being neurotic, but I'd appreciate answers to this question.
a fire ladder is very difficult to use but because of the canopy, it might even make it easier since you are not climbing straight down
