The other answer is correct. You need oxygen in order to have fire and there is not oxygen in space so no fire. So as for serving its intended purpose, no it wouldnt work. However, if the extinguisher has a strong enough shell and could survive the vacuum of space then it could be used for movement.
And please never use a safety pin again, it is entirely the wrong way to go and entirely what makes home piercings some stupid, besides the fact that the people doing them are unqualified. Home piercings have a higher risk of infection and the piercing rejecting, not to mention being crooked, too thick or too close to the top layer of skin. Just to relay to something above, the needle will be straight. Belly button piercings are not pierced with a curbed needle, you just pierce it at an angle and the jewelry heals it in a curved form. I have had my belly pierced for a few years now.
