Question:

Can your windshield wipers damage the wind shield if they have ice on them?

To clarify, I had ice on my wipers and when I wiped my windshield, it sounded a little different. It wasn‘t like completely scratching against the windshield, but there was a noticeable difference in the Sound it made. Can the wipers damage my windshield to the point where it will eventually develop a crack? I would have stopped (should have) but I was just trying to get home.

Answer:

As the others say, your windshield will be fine but running wipers across a windshield with ice stuck to it will shred the wipers, even new ones. DO NOT lift the blades off the windshield a bit and drop them to knock the ice off, though. that will crack the windshield.
The greater damage will be done to the rubber on your wipers and not the windshield.
a 460 most of fen came from factory with a c6 ford tyranny safe bet good luck it should fit no prob u can always modify if it don't fit
Glass is much harder than ice, you can't scratch glass with a piece of ice. If there is a stone or sand frozen into the ice or the rubber cracks and lets the metal part of the wiper rub the glass it could scratch it though. Very unlikely you could scratch it badly enough with the wipers to actually make it crack, I've never heard of that happening.
