Question:

Car Alarm goes off when I unlock it with the key?

I just recently lost my remote clicker to lock/unlock my car and when I go to unlock my car with the key itself (because I am reduced to doing so), the alarm goes off and I cannot get it to turn off. Any solutions out there by chance? Much appreciated!‘98 Mitsubishi Montero Sport.

Answer:

It could be that the key you are using is not the original key for the car (the one with the id chip in it) which is causing the alarm to go off. The alarm thinks someone is breaking into the car instead of the owner. Try using the original key if you have it if not look up information on the alarm in the owners manual.
The key works the electric door locks at every door,so once the electrics work the car thinks that some one is tampering with it like burglar. So it needs the fuse pulled on the alarm or disconnect the alarm. It depends if it is an alarm which was in the car from new or an added on after sold from new. If it is an aftermarket one it should be simple for some one to disarm. You could ring an car alarm fitting shop and they will tell you if it is complicated, if you give them the name of the alarm.
