Question:

Car alarm sensitivity adjustment?

I found a little black box underneath my drivers side dashboard/steering. It has a little round switch that goes from min to max(adjustable with small Phillips head). I just want to make sure this is my alarm adjustment.Basically my alarm goes off blazing for like 1 min if a squirrel jumps on it or a car goes by, will this change that if I put it all the way to Minimum?I heard about cars having a daul sensor for both vibration and shock? Can you explain? because my car goes off with vibration mostly, but not sure since I have not had the alarm armed for about a year.Im not a car person so please let me know if I am wrong, thank you. After market alarm*(Pursuit the protector)The alarm was installed by the dealer*2001 Ford Explorer sport*

Answer:

i would just get 2 copper couplings and a little section of copper pipe and sweat them together it is quick and simple fix
Other considerations should be made. Make sure the copper pipe you cut is not part of a critical electrical ground to something in the house. If there are any grounding cables on it you'll need to replace it with copper. If not, it's ok to go with the PVC gasket clamp on type joint. Stick with all copper if you can. Ask your local hardware vendor for what you'll need. Including a slice of bread. They should be able to tell you why you'll need that too.
Wow. I have never seen graphics in a question here. Nice job! To answer your question ,yes. You can do this with pvc pipe and two copper to pvc connectors. The mega-box home improvement place has a bin full of copper to pvc connectors and, most of them come in a plastic bag with instructions. You'll be done in 20 minutes.
Adjust this using a plastic or any type of non metallic tool 1/4 turn at a time to minimum and then retest by tapping your vehicle to see how it acts. A dual stage shock sensors have the ability to chirp the siren if it feels a light vibration and will set the alarm off if it feels a heavy impact.
