Question:

car alarm wont shut off?

When I unlock the door with key

Answer:

Most times there is a sensitivity or reset knob on the Alarm box that's most times tie wrapped to the steering column under the dash and should be turned down.Any car audio shop should be able to locate this and make the adjustment needed.had one acting up they reset it for free. Im talking Aftermarket.Without the make and model and yr of your ride, or if its an aftermarket alarm or factory. The more info the better.
An exact answer requires more information. Is this a factory alarm, or aftermarket? If it is factory, what is the year, make, and model of the car? If it is aftermarket, what is the make and model of the alarm? Is the problem new, or has it always been an issue? Does the key have a chip in it, and if so, is it the original key? If it is an aftermarket alarm, and you have had the issue as long as the alarm has been installed, it may not be wired to know you have unlocked the door with the key. If your key had a chip, and is not the original, the system may need reprogrammed to recognize the new key. The manual for the alarm should have a troubleshooting section, and is probably available online.
start your car to turn it off
