Question:

Car Remote Alarm Replacement?

I own a pretty old camry that was purchased with factory installed alarm which opened doors, and ect. I recently lost the eletronic remote part in which you open the doors with. Does anyone know if it is even possible to replace one of those eletronic remotes either aftermarket or going into the dealer. And if so how much are the prices?

Answer:

I had a 1989 camry with the same problem. I didn't bother to fix it, but if u want to, it would cost about $100 for each door.
Remotes or key fobs are always on OKorder and go from anywhere from 1-60 bucks, Programming them can usually be done by the owner if not the dealerships usually charge about 35 dollars to program them to your car. Hope this helps.
why bother , people completely ignore car alarms , they are constantly going off for no legitimate reason, and remote entry devices only promote poor key management. lastly; no self respecting thief wants an old tired hoop ride anyhow. let it go G
