Question:

Car tire sizes?

A friend has some winter tires for sale.My current tires are P175 65R14The tires he has for sale are P175 70R13 (already on rims). Will his tires fit my car?

Answer:

Depends on your car. If the cars are the same model, then they should be fine, and the rims as well, if they are different models, the rims may not fit your car at all. Some cars came with different size rims depending on the model and year. Personally, I would stick with the original size
I wouldn't blindly say that 13 rims won't fit on a car running 14 rims. That would depend 100% on what car you have and how big the braking system is as well as whether or not the lug nut/bolt pattern is the same between your car and your friends. Since his tires are smaller than yours, your odometer/speedometer will read a higher than actual mileage/speed. HTH
The tires will fit just fine - P175/70R13 82 is the natural -1 application for P175/65R14 81S and you can use the same factory recommended inflation pressures. Whether or not the wheels will fit on your car is a different matter since we don't know what kind of vehicle you have or what kind of vehicle the 13's came from. You'll just have to test fit one and see.
