Question:

Cat and plastic bags problem?

Why is my cat so obsessed by plastic bags? He is constantly chewing and rubbing against them!

Answer:

Animal fats are often used during the manufacturing process, and it's speculated that many cats lick plastic bags to taste the odour of those animal fats.
My cats love plastic bags too. I think it's the sound they make. Regardless, try not to let them play too much, or at least supervise them. Ingesting the bags can be fatal.
probably because they crinkle. Or maybe they smell neat. I'd be careful with the chewing, some bags are really thin and could get caught in the throat (you know 'this is not a toy for babies and children') cats count too. haha. Get the cat some of those pom pom toys that crinkle, maybe that would stop it. Atleast he doesn't pee on bags, I had a cat that would pee on plastic anytime she got in trouble for clawing furniture or beating up the other cats, it was like her going 'hah screw you'
No bag over its head! That is very dangerous and mean. But I have a cat with a breathing problem too and I think I know what you are aiming for- humidity. You should get a humidifier and place the cat in a small room with the humidifier- 10 -15 minutes. This will help the breathing. Plus if you have a similar problem you can use it too! Please take the cat to the vet- you will likely get some meds for it. Its not expensive. And be patient- these respiratory infections take some time to clear up. Make sure your cat eats and drinks while it is ill.
