Question:

Cats for a Catback Exhaust System?

I bought a Catback Exhaust system from OBX Racing specific to my 2010 Mazda 3 S Sport. I took it to a licensed mechanic as to not void my warranty and he said he could not do it because VA requires there to be Cats on the vehicle and that I would have to buy one for him to install the system. I have no idea about exhaust systems but if I bought a Catback Exhaust system, doesn‘t it have Cats?

Answer:

That mechanic is bullshitting you catback exhaust means it runs from the CAT- Back. The cats are still in place, you bolt them right after the cats. Take it to another mechanic or do it yourself . it's pretty easy to do as long as you have a lift
definite. that is going to def strengthen you horse capability and torque which will make it swifter. you besides might could get a greater effective intake to boot the greater effective you automobile can breath the greater effective that is going to pass.
The mechanic is a idiot its a CAT BACK meaning its from the tail end of the cat to the muffler and out the back so you should be using the stock cat Take it to another mechanic since yours clearly doesnt have all the sockets to a set Cheers (i recently bought a magnaflow exhaust for my 2006 mazda 3
