Question:

Cement wall and pond water question?

The cement sealant I will be using is a LastiSeal brand. It is waterproof, non-toxic, and eco friendly. There is a15 year warranty on it, They say it can be used with koi ponds. So I think it will work for my newly laid cement pond wall. Just one thing. I have to wait 4 weeks for new cement to cure before applying the sealer to the cement. As long as the water is not touching the wall, can I keep water in the pond during these 4 weeks if need be?

Answer:

Cement pond is what the Beverly Hillbillies called their swimming pool. :) Concrete/mortar cures in the air or underwater so it wouldn't matter if water was in the pond or if it touched the wall. However, the coating you want to use may require it to be dry. Also, the strength of the concrete is related to how well it is cured, so don't load it up w/water too soon.
