most are 10 by 12 and protect the heart from rifle shots but how big is a maximum coverage or MC-Plate?these plates dont cover your liver or stomach : ( do they?
Plates are different sizes based on your IBA size. But who cares? Shoot, Move, and Communicate- an infantryman on the ground can't move with 70 pounds of armor on him. I just weighed my vest with ammo. 70 pounds. I weigh 150. No more armor.
really depends on the type of vest the kind i've seen up close were the ones the Marine Corpse uses the plates are pretty big and cover 3/4 of the rib cage
not really the Kevlar dose a OK job be personally i can wait till they issues the dragon skin body armor a lot lighter weight but 2x to stopping power same ceramic and Kevlar just the place,s are smaller and overlapping covering from crotch to neck side to side and neck to tail bone somebody Finlay got it right
