Question:

Checking and rechecking locks?

I have had OCD all my life. Half of the symptoms I had since I was born and the other half since age 18. I have been on medication since 2001. I was wondering how other people with OCD coped with checking compulsions.I check and recheck windows and doors when I lock down my house. I check car doors to make sure all of them are locked. I used to wash again both legs after I washed one of them to make sure that I had washed both when I take a shower. Same with other parts of my body. Half of the time when I read a book I reread everything. It takes me longer than people that doesn't have OCD to read a book due to rereading. Thanks to the meds my symptoms have become less intense and bearable. I, however, was wondering how you have modified your behaiour or thought process to make the checking compulsions less intense and easier to bear.Thank you in advance.

Answer:

wowsounds dang crazy. Id say faulty wiring. get a good system. Get like a burglery system, that covers burglery, Co2, and fires. These are more accurate and will not fail. If you do get these, just make sure ur bathroom fan is on when u take a shower or else all the steam will come out and set it off when you open the bathroom door.
Yes, that would be considered harassment in Canada. Try recording the prank phone calls or video taping the harassment, or him confessing to harassing you. Without proof there's no way that you can sue him. Its also best to avoid all contact with him until you have a restraining order or you have proof, because like you said he takes drugs which could possibly make him dangerous.
