To find the mass percent of dolomite [CaMg(CO3)2] in a soil sample, a geochemist titrates 11.30 g of soil with 34.85 mL of 0.2516 M HCl. What is the mass percent of dolomite in the soil? _______%

Answer:

you are going to have to get rid of the water if you are going to solider it back. you can get a compression fitting and replace the old sweated fitting if you're not good at soldiering it.
THERE IS A PRODUCT AVAILABLE THAT IS SUPPOSE TO SEAL COPPER.I DO NOT KNOW THE NAME OF IT. ALSO THERE ARE SOME TAPES AVAILABLE. THEY MIGHT BE WORTH A TRY.
They have a repair kit that saddles the spot and tightenes with a wrap around piece and clamps. You can make one up with a piece of rubber, backed up with a harder piece of leather, or plastic, wrap it and tighten hose clamps on both sides of leak.
CaMg(CO3)2 + 4 HCl → CaCl2 + MgCl2 + 2 CO2 + 2 H2O Supposing nothing else in the soil reacts with HCl: (0.03485 L) x (0.2516 mol/L HCl) x (1 mol CaMg(CO3)2 / 4 mol HCl) x (184.4008 g CaMg(CO3)2/mol) / (11.30 g) 0.03577 3.577% dolomite
