Question:

Chrome Vs Plastic air intake tube?

Looking at getting a Kamp;N Cold Air Intake and am unable to decide between the chrome or plastic tube? Does one perform better than the other? I know the Chrome would definitely look better under the hood.

Answer:

take your car and get a dyno test done ...then get a cold air intake fitted ...then retest ....results? about 1% increase ...waste of money
No they will both do the same thing, and that's provide a path for the airflow. The chrome one is probably plastic anyway. Neither will perform any better than the other. Not like the intake setup will do anything useful either, but you didn't ask that.
LOL. A cold air intake - you do know that you already have one, right?? Do some research, and don't believe the marketing hype. Well, it's your money to waste.
There's nothing wrong with the cold air intake system that came on the motor from the factory. You'd need over $3000 worth of cams and other high performance mods to even get close to needing more air flow.
