Question:

Cleaning a leather sofa?

My darling little pup managed to get ahold of a box of donuts and ate them while sitting on my new leather couch. The dog is fine, but I have powdered sugar stains all over. Best ideas for getting them off without harming the leather?

Answer:

This should clean OK with a foam leather cleaner. Do not use saddle soap, baby wipes, furniture polish or any other household products as these will damage the finish on the leather.
vaccuum the powdered sugar up an wipe the couch with a damp cloth, this should do it
Wipe the powdered sugar off with a damp cloth. You can clean your leather with saddle soap. Good Luck!
Powdered sugar should notstain the leather. You should be able to just vacuum it off and wipe with a damp rag.Maybe the stain is grease stain from the donuts. You can buy leather cleaner. That would probably be your best bet.
A okorder . Click on Home, Cleaning, Articles. Scroll down to How to Clean a Leather Sofa. Please do not use saddle soap or any waxes to clean your leather. They will leave a residue that will change your color eventually. There are specific leather conditioners that you can buy to keep your leather supple, but they are not for cleaning either, just conditioning.
