i want to get a cold air intake for my 2000 v6 mustang, but i heard it makes it much easier to flood your engine because it will suck up the water from big puddles, and i dont want to be worrying everytime i go through a big puddle. so will a cold air intake really greatly increase the chance of your engine flooding?
Yes it does. However it would take awhile to make it pay for the cost in fuel cost. It will preform better as well. I would invest in a free flowing system,
i own a repair shop,and in one way it will help it,and in another way it will hurt i,you see those engines were designed to run with so much back pressure ,that's where they produce some of there power from,and if you change the exhaust your going to be changing the back pressure on it,and it will decrease the power a little,but will increase the mileage a little bit,really not enough to help it any,its sort of like a trade off,you make it sound different ,but you don't gain enough from it to make up for the cost of doing it,so really your not going to help it much at all there's not a lot you can do on it,except leave it like it is,and keep it tuned good that's the best for good gas mileage,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

Use your money for something else. added: I understand what you are getting it for, I am trying to tell you that you will be wasting your money.
