Question:

Cold Air Intake Systems?

I own a 92 Chevy Silverado with the 4.3L V-6. I was considering putting a cold air system on it to increase gas mileage. I would like to know if it is worth it, and any recommendations on any particular system that works best.

Answer:

cold air intake would not do you any goodit might pay for it self after about a million miles in the money you save on gasa new air filter kn or fram would help just keep it clean!!! 4.3 is a great engine with alot of power but as most good chevy vehicles they came from the factory just about as good as there gonna getnew spark plugs would also help
As you said, like in Tron. As in like The Dukes of Hazzard and Batman and The Knight Rider and Herbie and the car in Harry Potter plus lets not forget Gone in 60 Seconds and Transformers the list goes on and on and on. None of it is real. Fantasy. On the subject of wind, I like how I can be riding my bike and break wind all I like and not have to worry about the other guy. But thats just me.
yeah a kn intake would save gas so would a new kn air filter, a dual exhaust system as well. new spark plugs would work too.
Cold air intakes decrease mileage. They are built for aftermarket power increases, by allowing more cold air past the air temperature sensor. The computer responds by dumping more fuel into the engine. You will see a 1 - 2 mpg decrease overall. The good quality systems cost over $200, like Banks, AE, and KN.
like DAN said its called sitting up
