Question:

Cold air Intake Void Warranty???

I just bought a brand new cold air intake for my 2004 vw jetta. it currently has 34 k miles on it and it has a 100k warranty. if i install the cai will it void my warranty?

Answer:

Any time you mess with factory installed features, you run the risk of voiding the warranty. And despite what others on here might have told you, dealerships know when their stuff has been messed with. They do this for a living.
it shouldnt my buddy put one on his rabbit and he said the dealership said as long as it is not internal parts your ok, and that he has one on his vw - No buddy not if the warranty is for just the power and drivetrain, a bracket is not part of that. it depends what his warranty is for /
No, the only warranty that may be voided is anything directly related to the parts you changed. For instance, if something that holds your intake on breaks, or somesuch. They can deny you coverage for that. If a piece of plastic/metal/whatever breaks off the thing and gets sucked into the engine, they'd probably deny you coverage for that, too. But because the intake has nothing to do with say, the suspension, or the electronics, they cannot void the warranty on those parts. Regardless, VW has a pretty good reputation for allowing mild performance modifications under their warrantys.
