Question:

Cold air intake vs Cone filter/aircharger?

What‘s the difference between a cold air intake and putting, lets say a KN cone filter, on your stock intake plumbing? I do not know all the workings that go into the cold air intake but I do not see the difference as long as I modify the intake box to get more and fresher air. Thanks for any help and insight!

Answer:

dont listen to joe somebody, he is wrong, if you throw a k and n filter on, you will notice more throttle response and power. the best thing to do is make a cold air intake out of 3 pvc and run it down to the bottom grill of your car where it will truly pull in the cold air. if you buy a cold air intake, it just pulls air in from the engine bay which is warm anyways. but the best and quickest thing to do is just slap in a k and n filter. i promise you WILL notice a differance. the first day i buy a new vehicle, i go right to autozone and buy a k and n filter for it
My mom used to take a leaf, cut it in half width-wise, place the cut end in dirt. Water and fertilize as usual.
well alot of things are different. stock intakes arent for preformance. after market preformance intakes take in more cold air and give your car more horsepower. about a 10 to 20 hp gain. throwing a KN filter on wont do anything but clean the cold air coming in better. Also, the metal plumbing on an after market intake keep the air cooler as it travels to the engine, unlike the plastic plumbing with can get kind of hot.
